Senior Capstone Seminar (NMDD 4600)
This is an informational book about female monsters across diverse cultures, with a focus on non-western and underrepresented myths and legends. The book is written from a partly fictional, partly analytical perspective, with original illustrations. It reads as a journal and provides insight into the monsters while describing them to an unfamiliar audience. This book aims to delve into the meaning of monster stories; i.e. why they are told, how they are told, and why only some of them are known. It has been printed and hand-bound. While the spreads were created in InDesign and Photoshop, additional materials were added by hand. All digital illustrations are my own unless otherwise specified in the bibliography.
